Meet our core clinical faculty

The primary faculty includes four full-time Family Medicine physicians who supervise the residents’ continuity clinic and two Family Medicine physicians certified in additional sub-specialties. The director and associate program director handle program development, teaching, supervising and coordinating all aspects of resident education.

I was born and raised in Southeast Michigan, and attended Michigan State University for both undergrad and medical school. Go Green! I completed my residency at Botsford Hospital (Beaumont Farmington Hills) and have been on staff ever since. My favorite part of being involved in medical education is the energy and enthusiasm residents bring to the clinic. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three boys. Particularly playing sports with them and spending time outdoors, especially on the water.

I grew up in Troy, Michigan. I played collegiate ice hockey while obtaining my undergraduate degree from Arizona State University. I then attended Oakland University and received a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology while working in Preventive Cardiology at Henry Ford Hospital. I received my medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. I completed my residency training at Beaumont Farmington in Family Medicine, and I also completed an Internship at Henry Ford Allegiance Health. After residency, I completed a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Western Michigan University where I worked with the athletic departments from both Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo College, and Kalamazoo Central High School. During fellowship I received an extra certification in musculoskeletal ultrasound and am passionate about using ultrasound to help better diagnose and treat patients. I’m excited to be working with an exceptional group of physicians (and mentors) and hope to provide exceptional patient centered care for both general medical and sports/orthopedic conditions.

On a personal note, I am married and have 2 young children and a golden retriever. We enjoy spending time together as a family, usually outdoors being active. We enjoy biking to local restaurants and coffee shops. In my free time I enjoy working out, ice hockey, and cooking; but also enjoy relaxing (when time permits).

I am now serving as Assistant Program Director. I had developed our program and served as PD for the FM Residency for 30 years. This year I passed the baton to Dr. Sebastian. I am proud to have guided our Program through ACGME accreditation. We now have full accreditation with NO citations.

I grew up in Farmington Hills. I attended MSU for my Undergrad education and University of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines for medical School. My residency in Family Medicine was at Botsford Hospital. I was originally in Private practice for many years and was asked to “restart” the FM Residency Program in 1987. This began my adventures into academic medicine of which I have found to be just as rewarding as taking care of my patients and their families over all these years. I love teaching and have worked hard at adding faculty with the same passion. I have been married since medical school with 4 children and now 3 grandchildren, grand dogs and horses. I love the outdoors. Including bike riding, horseback riding, cross country downhill skiing and Big Family Dinners on Sunday.

I grew up in Livonia, MI and attended Detroit Catholic Central High School where I helped lead our football team to its third consecutive State Championship and also was an All-State wrestler. I played football at Saginaw Valley State University before transferring to MSU where I graduated with honors in human biology. I was proud to serve as Vice President of the MSUCOM Class of 2014. I completed my Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine residency at Botsford (Beaumont Farmington Hills) and then a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the Detroit Medical Center. I currently serve as a team physician for the Detroit Red Wings.

Outside of medicine, I love spending time with my wife and two children. I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, camping, skiing, fishing, cooking and traveling.

I am honored to be able to teach Osteopathic Manipulation at the same residency program that has set me up for success.  My goal is to inspire you and empower you to utilize OMT in your practice
