Yastira Ramdas, born and raised in South Africa, has a strong education and commitment to serve. After earning her Bachelor's of Medicine and Surgery from the Medical University of Southern Africa, Diploma in Pediatrics from the College of Medicine (SA), Master's in medicine from the University of Witwatersrand and being a Harvard alumnus, Yastira completed her Radiation Oncology residency at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and worked in private practice for six years. Yastira feels grateful for treating a substantial patient base and is dedicated to continually learning and advancing the field. Currently, Yastira is working on her PhD investigating immunological-led cancer therapies and is proud of her published research papers. As a principal investigator at the South African site for the Global TARGIT-B IORT trial in the UK, she is committed to finding new ways to treat cancer.
As a resident at Beaumont Health, Yastira humbly provides quality care to cancer patients using her knowledge and skills to deliver effective treatments. With a compassionate bedside manner, she strives to become a knowledgeable radiation oncologist. Yastira believes caring for a cancer patient involves supporting the person and giving them hope for a brighter future.
