Research

General Surgery Research

The Beaumont Research Institute is located on campus immediately adjacent to the hospital. It is a 72,000 square foot complex which houses facilities that provide an avenue for bench, animal, and clinical research. Five full-time faculty in the laboratory are dedicated to ongoing surgical research.

The fourth year of the residency is dedicated to providing a research experience that can be tailored to meet each resident's individual career goals. This mandatory year is fully funded, and there are funds available to assist in resident projects. Many residents have produced results that were readily published and/or presented at national meetings.
