We are excited that you are considering Beaumont Children's Hospital, affiliated with Oakland University School of Medicine (OUWB). We are a diverse program made up of residents from all over the world. We are a strong program nestled in a much larger Adult Hospital consistently ranked #2 in Michigan (Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak).
We have an incredible Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with over 50 beds. There are more than 17, 000 births at Beaumont every year. We also have an 8-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with three step-down beds, and a 50-bed pediatric ward. We have a full complement of pediatric sub-specialties, including: Nephrology, Neurology, Radiology, Infectious Disease, Urology, Otolaryngology, Pediatric Surgery, Child Advocacy and Protection (CAP), Adolescent Medicine, Development, Pulmonology, and Genetics. We have one fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) as we are a Level II Emergency Department in Pediatrics and Level I Emergency Department in Adult Medicine. And we are expanding our fellowship offerings in the coming years.
We have incredible faculty who value teaching and have a dedicated Academic Half Day. In addition, we value Wellness in our program with an annual Wellness Week and Pediatric Resident Retreat.
Our program is small but mighty. With high volume, complicated patients, and an incredibly diverse patient population, where you will learn the skills you need to be an excellent pediatrician.
